hp designjet 500 42 and autocad 2015 does not support the driver/ print

i am using windows 8.1 and autocad 2015 installed from other softwares like Acrobat i can print on my plotter hp 500 42 very nice but autocad 2015 says the divers are not installed is there any remedy for this issue or this plotter to be through-en out too thanks

Brilliant,  That worked on our HP Designjet 800 using the universal print driver win-x64-hpgl2-drv.exe file. (AutoCAD 2017 Windows 10).

Is there a special program I need to install these drivers? I click on the exe file and it unzips them to a temp folder however the extensions are not complete (ex_; dl_; da_)....that type of thing. these files are useless in this form.

You need to use Windows 10 Settings' add-a-printer feature and point to that folder when it asks for a driver http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2737935/add-printer-windows.html

I have successfully(though not consistently) plotted to the 800ps with the 800PS 42. I setup the plotter for HPGL2.

I have plotted several AUTOCAD 2015 drawings.

Additionally, I have also had moderate success using the 500 driver. Kinda squirly though.

I feel the best option is to use 32bit of win 10 operating system in pc and
then connect this printer. I found that 32bit OS supports printing thru
Autocad 2015 properly without any glitch. Just for your info the same key
of win10 64 can be used for 32bit, if I am not wrong. To find out your
Win10 key you can use Produkey tool. I hope this helps.
