Plotting an overly on film/acetate

I'm plotting an overlay on film but it wont line up to the paper plot of the same viewport. I created marks to use to align, I'll line up the marks on one side bu the other side seems about an inch off. It's almost as if the acetate is stretching. The sheet size is 48"x36" and the plotter is an HP T1500 HPGL2 driver. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks,

Make sure that your plotter is accurately calibrated for each media type separately (not related to AutoCAD) , and then if necessary use the calibration in AutoCAD.

This does sound more like an issue with the plotter than with AutoCAD. Is it just acetate that has the problem? Doing some calibration may indeed be the fix. If print preview looks correct in AutoCAD, then that image is what is being given to the printer driver. Anything that differs in the final output happened either in the printer driver or at the printer itself.
