Is anyone using Oce ReproDesk and AC2K with 100% success? I am running
into a few problems, that until I started asking other firms, I thought
were just confined to our office. First problem, the wipeout function
or any derivitive of it does not work unless the "lines overwrite"
option for the plot-to-file plotter is selected. Second, raster images
appear is unusual places (sometimes off the screen), unless I rotate
them 180d. I have been using a GL2 driver, because the Oce drivers
either gave lousy results or did not preserve the scale. I am trying to
gather ammunition to go at Oce to correct this problem in a timely
fashion (AC2K has been out for almost a year and a half!!). If anyone
is experiencing the same problems and the same loss of productivity
please post me the details so that I may relay them to Oce.

The best way to make Reprodesk Work is as a coaster. The software is
unbelievably poor, as well as the support that goes with it. We had to
install the raster driver from the Oce CD on our NT server and use that to
plot. We then use a _custom written_ pc3 file that was created for us by our
vendor. If you look back in CF files, you might find the pc3 files still in
there.

In either case, I cannot express with enough bitterness or anger how much
Oce USA is lacking in customer support. Feel free to send me an email if you
want more info and I'll try to get you more.

Brady, Oce is aware of most of these problems, but it's always good to put
further pressure on Oce as the supplier of the product. One problem Oce has
is that Reprodesk is not their own developed product, but it comes from
another company. Until 6 months ago this was PageMasters, now it is Buzzsaw.
And.... this is a member of the Autodesk family. I hope for all Reprodesk
users - that includes us - that Autodesk will use their influence on their
new familymember to improve the product, Oce should do everything they can
from the other side as the responsible supplier.
