Printing and Plotting

I realize this is a forum for AutoCAD but I didn't get any useful responses in the Revit forums so I thought I would try here.

In our office we convert .PLT files to .PDF files using software that came with our plotter. When I create .PLT files from Revit, the images are upside down and nothing I try seems to change this. (I have created .PDF files straight from Revit using a .PDF driver but, although when plotted they look the same as plots from a .PDF generated from a .PLT, the image on the screen looks very different for some reason and that has been reason enough for me to not deviate from the office standard.)

I have changed the "Orientation" in my plotter's properties from "Landscape" to "Rotated Landscape", makes no difference. I have tried changing settings in our plotter software to rotate the image 180 degrees before the .PDF file is created from the .PLT file, makes no difference. And, well, that's about all I've tried, other than search on the Internet high and low, because I can't find many settings in the user interfaces that seem to affect image rotation/orientation.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you remedy it (besides rotating the images after-the-fact using Acrobat or some other software)?

Is the image upside down in the PLT file? print the plt file and find out,
or get a 3rd party viewer, or post it here.

Wait, do you just mean the entire PDF is not landscape or in "read"
orientation? Is that what you mean by "image"?

What software is this? What plotter?
REVIT what version?

It sounds like the software you use which came with your plotter to convert
PLTs to PDFs is not compatible with the Revit print driver.

I know with AutoCAD when using the Windows Drivers to create PLTs, software
like ViewCompanion will have trouble converting the PLT to PDFs. The Images
in the PLT is not read correctly so the image in the converted PDF is also
wrong.

As Dean suggested, print the PLT to your plotter to see if the image comes
out correctly. If it does, then the problem lies with your plotter
conversion software.

Sorry for the confusion. By "image" I basically just meant the drawing, so when I view the .PDF the entire drawing is upside down.

I am using Revit MEP 2010 to produce the .PLT file and then using the KIP Request 6.5.109 software that came with our KIP 6000 plotter to create the .PDF file.

I used the KIP Request software to see a preview of the .PLT file and the drawing is upside down in that file so it seems Revit is producing an upside down .PLT file, though I am using the KIP 6000 print driver within Revit to produce the .PLT file (specify KIP as the plotter and then select the "Print to file" option) so I guess it's really the KIP driver that is doing it. This doesn't happen when I use AutoCAD MEP 2009 to produce .PLT files, though.

Do I need to get a different KIP driver for Revit?

I don't use a Kip, but about the time 2010 came out there was a lot of
chatter around here where you are posting about waiting for and finally
getting drivers/software that was R2010 friendly.
Search around or contact Kip support for more, they might already know about
it.

Is your page square - as in same dimension in X & Y? I remember fighting
with rasters that would not rotate correctly using a square page and got
around it by making x slightly bigger.
