    HP 11x17 Printing Problem

I cannot get AutoCAD 2010 64-bit to print to my HP 8150. I have tried both the PCL6 and the PS drivers for the 64 bit system. I can get both of these to work from PDF's. So I know that it is not the driver because it works with other programs. When I try to print it just shuts AutoCAD down without a fatal error message. I saw another post where this was a problem but no resolution. Has anyone come accross this? Do you have any solutions? I can print 8.5x11 to the printers.

I am having the same issue with an HP 9040. Help please!

    Use PCL5
drivers... I heard PCL6 were wonky.  Also, spool the plots directly to
the netshare IP port of the device, vs thru the Server (which is
    probably 32 bit).

Using pcl5 does not solve the problem. (tried it).
Spooling directly to the printer via ip rather than through the server did not solve the problem. (tried that too).

    Any other suggestions?

Make a custom paper size with the same dimensions of an 11x17 paper. You need to do this at the server print driver, not on the individual computers. Make sure you get the tray settings marked correctly. This has worked in three different offices for me on two different printers.

Ive tried creating a custom size..it wants me to manually load the paper. (which when I do actually does prints the 11x17 which is a start) but I cannot get it to load from tray 3 (11x17). Ive went into the printer preferences after creating a custom size and changed paper source from automatically select to the actual tray 3...but it doesnt seem to stay there...or just isnt saving...or something.
I must be missing a small step somewhere.
did you specify a specific paper size? or just inputed 11in by 17in?
What about the margins? did you leave that zero?
Im not 100% sure I know what you are talking about when you say this needs to be done at the server print driver. Im creating my custom print size when I go into my printers and just highlight 'add printer' then select file and server properties.

There is no fix for HP printers and AutoCAD in 64bit yet: many have found
the Windows/HP Universal Printer Driver as a fix, some have not. Others
found locally installed PCL5 drivers work, others found spooling to an older
    32bit server/printserver station works too.

You will need to specify what tray on the individual computer. So once you have loaded the print driver with the added paper size you will need to go to your printer prefrences and select the appropriate tray for that paper size.

I finally successfully printed a 11x17 on my HP printer.
I had to do some playing around with the settings...but altimately, I got it to work by creating a custom print size, Installing the printer locally, and using the 5100 pcl6 driver. My custom print size was by no means custom...I inputed 11in x 17in with .15in on all my margins. I then selected that custom print size in all my fields. I did notice that you have to create your custom print size AND THEN install your printer locally, otherwise your custom print size will not show up in the dropdown menus.

Weird... We been running XP64 with ACAD2006 and locally installed HP8150
XP64 drivers PCL6 (2005) and sent 11X17 plots directly to the
netshared SNMP IP port RAW setting, and really not had any issues printing.

Where can I get the 5100 pcI6 driver and will it work with the HP t1120?
I want to print from a 17" roll so that I can plot 17x22 and 11x17.

I have talked with HP, they tell me it can't be done because the t1120 does not support that size roll and there are no drivers to do so.

    Thanks,
    Chuck
