GAS drawing takes approx. 1 hour for just ploting preview & creating pdf file.

Dear Autodesk Family,

For our any General Arrangement Skid(GAS) drawing, the drawing file takes approx. 30min to 1 hour for just plot preview and creating the pdf file.

Also after the creation of pdf, sometimes few parts are missing in the pdf.

The sample pdf is attached here.

Note 1:

Its a AutoPlant ISOMETRIC model. Its having xref many files attached.

Currently the drawing pdf I shared is having drawing .dwg file size of 1.01 MB .

Also the plot preview setting is given second attachment.

Please let me know any solution/setting for fast ploting and fast pdf creartion

Waiting for your earliest reply.

Note 2: We are using:

Software :   Autocad 2012-64Bit , Bentley Autoplant V8i - SS4 version : 8.11.9.140 , Naviswork 2013 , Inventor Ultimate 2014-64 Bit , MS-Office 2010 - 64 Bit.

Slow plotting is either content or driver setting related: if you want to share the actual DWG file someone here may observe a solution.

Since the majority of your 16 XREFs are 3D detailed plant or plant-components drawings, plotting is going to be slow: goes back to what was noted earlier, content in your files is the reason for slowness. There is no 'fix', it's a lot of 3D info to squeeze into a 2D flat paper/PDF plot.

RECOVERALL command did find some minor errors in your Xrefs but not enough to make a difference.
