    Trackball ?

Does AutoCAD work with most trackballs. I am looking at getting a trackball with as many buttons as I can find to replace my mouse. I don't have the room for a tablet and think that a trackball with programable buttons would be the next best thing. Any input? What trackballs work best?

I use the Kensington Expert Mouse and a Contour
ShuttlePro.  The expert mouse has four buttons that can be
programmed.  Also the lower  pair and the upper pair of buttons can be
used together for additional programming.  I use the contour shuttlepro -
which is actually marketed toward a/v editors - because it has 13 programmable
buttons and a 'jog' wheel that I use with ACAD's dynamic zoom feature (ACAD 2000
or higher only).  I have the trackball on the right, and the shuttlepro on
    the left of my keyboard.

trackballs  (I've had mine for a long time - I don't know current
    prices).

I will never trade in my Kensington trackball - I use one at work and at
home.  I will mention that I have to use a wrist rest to keep my arm
    comfortable.

    Good luck!

Trackballs are great.  Just make sure you get
an optical one.  Cleaning rollers is not fun.

I found it much easier and more precise to use a
finger controlled ball, rather than a thumb controlled ball.  So go
somewhere where you can test them out.

I prefer the Logitech Trackman Marble FX but its
out of production.  The Microsoft Trackball Explorer looks like it's pretty
    close though.
