Just purchased Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000.
The mouse driver software does not list 'PAN' as a command in the application (autocad) specific settings.
I want to hold the scroll wheel down to pan. MBUTTONPAN is set to 1. Does not pan.
I also want the thumb button (4) for ESC. Also not listed in the MS mouse software listings.
Is it possible to assign these buttons through the CUI dialog?
If so, please give instructions....many thanks.

I do not see "esc" in the mouse driver listing.
There is a "keystroke" listing to assign a key... funny thing, when I try to assign ESCAPE by pressing the key, it just cancels the operation.
Thru trial and error I found "autoscroll" works for the middle button.
Double clicking the wheel to get ZOOM EXTENTS is not very precise, and takes a few tries.
Adjusting the speed does not seem to help.
I found a tutorial on-line and learned how to assign F12 as CANCEL for the thumb button.

Lynn re-mapped F2...I did both F2 & F12
also:

once F12 was re-mapped in Autocad, I used the Microsoft mouse software to assign a KEYSTROKE (F12) for the fourth button located on the thumb side of the mouse.

You can also assign ESC to the left side button by using the macro function in the mouse software.
This way you don't need to re-map the F12 key.
Select 'Macro' for the left side button and a macro editor wil appear.
Make a new macro by clicking 'New'. You can give it a logical name.
Click on 'Insert special'
Select ESC from the list.
The ESC symbol is added to the editor.
That's all this macro needs so confirm by clicking 'Ok'.
The macro is now assigned to the button.

Having F12 as Esc is very helpful to us Left handed users.
