Automatically Expose DMSID as a Field Type

It would be useful to have a new Field Type that is the DMSID for items in the workspace. This is such a useful bit of information it just seems to make sense to have it "at the ready".

I couldn't get it work in our tenant. I am seeing The column DMSID is undefined, while trying to add a field to one of the workspaces in our tenant using the Computed Field Formula as mentioned by you. Please advise.

Thanks,

Would an on-create script work to populate a field with the dmsid at the time of item creation?

@Anonymous, I have already the solution proposed by you in place. Thanks for checking.

I am wondering how the solution proposed by @nguyentru really works.

Thanks,
Madhav
