You could setup a script on the completion transition on your task workflow. It can be conditional, so If its this kind of task, spawn a new onw for in a months time and create milestones with a 4 week/1 month offset. However at this stage you can't automate the addition of that task to the Project management tab unfortunately. I get the feeling that's not too far away, but who knows really.

I think there may be something about adding tasks to the Project management tab via scripting in the Idea Exchange (Yes I want to keep on calling it that, because no offence IdeaStation is a lame name).

I hope this helps James. It points you halfway in the correct location.

We think we want this too!  Could someone give a demonstration?

Perhaps this could be addressed on a PLM Talk Webinar or on the PLM360 YouTube site?

Thanks for all the great ideas!

Great suggestion for PLM Talk - we're doing one on scripting soon so this (or some variant) may be a good use case.

Thanks,

Michelle

thanks,

i had considered using a create task script at the end transition in the workflow however i think it would be a difficult script to write.

i could write a script that creates a new task and offsets its due dates by 1 month however the problem is if the original task is running behind schedule then the proceeding tasks will be running behind schedule as well.

would be good if you could setup a script that takes the current month (eg Jan) >> 1 making it Feb and create a new task for the 1st of feb.

so no matter if you finish early or late the next task will be created on the 1st of every month.

thanks everyone for your contribution

You can probably pull the month out from the current date, or from the items creation date, then add a month?
