REST API - Microsoft Exchange or Webmail

I'm just wondering if anyone has thought about or done any work on using the REST API to convert an incoming email into a PLM 360 item?

I'm not aware of anything involving mail.  What do you have in mind?

It would be cool to have the REST API convert an email into an item, leveraging the email body, subject line & header. Then you can log support tickets through the system, or submit documents/photos to the system or raise a purchase order or request for quote all by sending an email to a specific email address. Purchases@adsk.com or Sales@adsk.com or expenses@adsk.com or support@adsk.com etc etc.

Pretty powerful & ultimately results in a situation where the end user isn't even exposed to the PLM UI, they continue to use email like they always do. I think scripting has already been sussed out on this forum for sending emails based on events in PLM 360, which would then create a closed loop for the system.
