Create a Revision Controlled Item That is Already Released

I'm looking at creating an item for legacy data that is revision controlled. When I create the item I want it to already be released and at a certain rev letter as it is legacy. Is there a way to do this without using a rev controlling item?

Have you tried adding the record via import? The import tool allows you to import an item in a specified lifecyle state and revision.

For more help on importing Lifecyle/Revision properties, you can search for "Validation of Item Revisioning Data" in PLM's "Help Guide".

I agree with the comment on using import.  You can set all the citical properties on import and even import historical revisions should you have them.

This help article shows you the rules:
