float a nested block

Guys,

i'm writing a bill of material program and have 3 attribute block symbols which are basiclly a simple close frame with some attributes inside these blocks can be freely inserted in dwg but also can be wrapped in a container block which also can be an xref. when the container is mirrored? the visibile attributes is unreadable.

i would like to to 'float' those symbols up to the current database (insert a new copy of it on a new layer

for visibily purposes and leave the nested\mirroed for billing)

i know how to get the nested AcDbBlockReference object but i need help in floating them up

(converting the position + scale + rotation)

Thanks in Advance

Hi,

Sorry, the explanation seems a little confusing.

Especially when you say " 'float' those symbols up to the current database (insert a new copy of it on a new layer for visibily purposes and leave the nested\mirroed for billing)"

If you can provide a simple buildable sample project demonstrating the issue that you are trying to solve, we can try and suggest a way to get to that functionality.
