Dimensions in DXF Files in AutoCAD 2009

I realise this is probably not the right place to post, so thanks to anyone
who can point me to a better place, but as programmers one of you might have
come across this problem or something similar.

We are creating some dxf files in a 3rd party product and dimensions are not
displayed when opened in AutoCAD 2009. If the same files are loaded into
AutoCAD 2008, then they are displayed as expected.
The problem seems to be that 2009 depends on the dxf file containing a block
for each dimension containing the lines and text which make up the
dimension, whereas 2008 is quite happy to regenerate them. Is there any way
we can avoid having to do this "extra" work. We are quite happy for the
dimensions to use whatever Standard dimension style the user has in their
template.

Regards
David

David,

After importing into 2009, have you tried using the AUDIT command to see if
that fixes the database?
