ObjectARX is a super-set of RealDWG (was ObjectDBX); if you minimize and
isolate the use of ARX, you should be able to develop much of your DBX
application using the ObjectARX SDK and run it from within AutoCAD. At some
point in the future, it will then be easier to replace the AutoCAD host with
your own.

Hello,
I know ObjectARX SDK very well and now I want to try out ObjectDBX/RealDWG.
In all samples that I found AutoCAD itself is the Host-Application, but Im
very intersted in sampels using ObjectDBX in my own Host-Application like
VolvoView etc. does.
For example: I realy dont know how to create a simple dwg-Viewer as stand
alone in dbx. Things like pDb->readDwgFile(... did not seem to work in DBX
as I know it from ARX. But how is it possible to create a Viewer like Volvo
View without this ?
PS:
I know that I need a ObjectDBX SDK license if I purchased this application,
but in the moment I want only to try out ObjectDBX and I think I need no
licence for that. (I even know the link www.autodesk.com/objectdbx.)
Regards
Simone
