Re: Pricing for Fusion 360 Announced!

We put a program in place several years ago to let students use Autodesk software for free while they were students. I think its a safe bet that this will extend to cloud applications as well.

The price could be a lower for the hobbyist like myself, I wouldn't think twice in paying something between $10-$15 for such a powerful software. At $25 I may look somewhere else.

As a hobbyist, I have no idea what is the size of a serious project, but what about limiting the number of unique bodies in each project? For a 3D printer enthusiast I think a range between 10-30 would be  more than enough (Creo does this).

I am just learning Fusion 360, moving from 123D Design that doesn't offer enough (or to be precise that has too inconsistent features from ipad, cloud or desktop). However I am a hobbyist playing with my 3D printer. I can't afford a $25 fee per month for few hours a month and may look to other solutions. I am okay to pay or get ads for such a great software. However it has to be fair based on the user profile. I like the idea of limited number of projects or possibly limited advanced features. Let us know what the model is so I know if I invest my time into it.

We will be making Fusion 360 free to hobbyist and users who do not use it for commercial purposes.

Will dwarves, orks, wizards, and elves also get it free if they don't use it for commercial purposes? haha

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
