basic question on materials..

i wonder if someone can help...

i have produced a few simple models in MEP 2012 of buildings, i have used the material apply to make the windows clear, but when i view them in Navis review 2010, all i get is a blue solid..

How do i make these display correctly?

I have had this problem as well.  The first thing to confirm is that you are on FullRender mode rather than Shade mode: Viewpoint tab / Render Style panel / Mode button.

I recall 'way back' that sometimes I would have to drag some Presenter material onto a part of a model, then all of the sudden, the whole model would FullRender.  Then I could remove said material, but it would still remain FullRender, and my windows would look clear.

I can't say that I have had/or seen this problem with the 2012 version, so maybe it was something that was fixed in later versions.

The gotcha for you may be that your are using Review, I don't remember if it has Presenter or not.

Review didn't have presenter, you would need to use Simulate or Manage. In review you can change the color and transparency of the object but will be unable to add materials to it.

You may want to try this out in the 2012 version  http://www.autodesk.com/navisworks-trial
