I would have thought that this would have worked. Open NWD files created with Navis Manage 2014 in Freedom 2015.
The user is getting unknown version number errro.
I've tested publishing the Gatehouse sample file to NWD (with resave allowed and not allowed) in Navisworks Manage 2014, but I'm not receiving an error when opening these NWDs in Navisworks Freedom 2015.
Are you seeing this error with all NWDs, and also with the sample files?
No. Sample files seem to open fine. And... I guess this is only for a certain file. I wonder why it opens fine in 2014 freedom, but not 2015. It fails with an unknown version number error.
I think I have a screen shot. I can upload the shot, and the nwd if I get time later this morning.
Same problem. Just downloaded Navisworks Freedom 2015. But we have still Navisworks 2014 to output a NWD file.
Isn't there a possiblility to dowload navisworks Freedom 2014 from the Autodesk site??
We really want this to work, cause my co-workes can't view the clash results I made with the 2014 version in Freedom 2015..
I recently started a different thread on a similar topic. I have recently installed BDS Ultimate 2015. We are working through a Revit project in 2014 and I am using Revit to push out .nwc's as we go and these are put through the mill and nwd'd out to all parties for viewing in Freedom 2014. It seems the 2015 install has hijacked the 2014 nwc exporter and the exports no longer open in Naviswork 2014 but open fine in Navisworks 2015. I have just gone through a very long process of clean uninstalling BDS 2015 and 2014 and am now reinstalling BDS 2014 to re-enable the exporter. Not my most productive morning's work.... If you use a similar workflow I would avoid installing the 2015 versions until Autodesk has acknowledged the issue and provided a fix.
I wonder if you tried doing Add or Remove Features from your Navisworks 2014 Exporter Plugins, from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Perhaps Removing the plugins first, then Adding them back in would have worked. Although, I would suppose that might break the 2015 ones as well.
Just a thought.
One other thing to check is if there are "#" in the filename or path.
The 2015 software won't open a file with "#" in the filename or path (but 2014 would).
