Third person is too small

Hi,

I have a model in mm, but when I start Walking, I have 2 issues:

1) the avatar is not appearing

2) I'm too small: as you can see when I come close to the van, the weel is a normal size of 665 mm,

but my horizon is only about 300mm above the floor, and this should be about 1,5 m

I'm using Manage 2011 to create the NWD and Freedom 2012.

Are there any options where the size of the avatar can be changed ?

Hi Patrick_Aps_9121

Perhaps the setting of the avatar is off.  Please check the following in Navisworks Manage and resave the NWD:

1. In the view with the issue, click the Edit Current Viewpoint button 2011-12-27_1006.png in the Viewpoint tab
2. Under Collision, click the settings button

3. Click the defaults button, this should set the height of the avatar to 1800.00mm

4. Click enable to turn the Avatar back on, you also need want to change the Avatar model back to what it was (Human 1, Human 2, Dummy, etc).  Likewise, you'll probably want to enable collision and gravity, so that the avatar remains on the ground as you navigate.

I think this should bring the height of the camera up, but if the avatar still isn't displaying, there may be an issue with the clipping planes.

1. Click File Options in the Project panel of the Home tab.

2. Check the Near Clipping Plane's automatic value, if it is set to high, it will clip the avatar in front of the camera.  Try setting it to fixed, and have a value of something small, such as 1.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi John,

your things were not the solution, but got me in the right direction

Clipping planes are Fixed at 0,125 and 500 (meters, i presume)

The avatar appears after I did a reset Default

but  then changed the Height to 1m8, the Eye offest to 0,2m and the distance to 3m

and now we are back  walking in a more realistic way.

That would influence the size of the model and/or the units that the measure commands use. That is unwanted. We do want to have the model in Meters, with three digits to have accurancy up to 0,000 meters, being a mm.
