Temporary Constructions

I am researching a procedure of creating a REVIT model for site safety in phases, (Excavation, Foundation, Superstructure), showing all temporary constructions including fences, sheds, scaffolds, stanpipes, trailers, hoists, cranes, netting both vertical and horizontal, etc... Have them show up at different intervals and in different locations based on the phases across time. I suspect one approach is to create phases with separate views in REVIT then export to NavisWorks and use the timeliner. One of the problems I have encountered is having the temporary construction for example the fence change position around the site during different phases without showing the original fence location. In addition I created decals of various signage and that is not exporting over. Any comments would be helpful.

Navisworks doesn't currently export the decals as materials unless you export the model as FBX which may not be ideal for Timeliner. You may be better adding the decals as textures in Presenter in Navisworks.

You have two options for moving the fence across the site. Either create multiple instances of the same fence which appear and disappear when they move. Or use Animator to create an animation of where the fences move to, then link it to Timeliner as shown below.

I have set up a REVIT model with horizontal and vertical safety nets along the building perimeter. What I am trying to hide the horizontal nets at a particular point when the timeliner gets to another point in time so that it appears as if the nets are jumping with the construction. The best way to explain it as follows:

As the building goes up the code requires at a height of 75' or 6 stories I have to provide horizontal nets and then every two floor not to exceed 30 feet in height. Typically I handle this by simply installing nets at the 6th floor, 8th floor and so on.

What I am trying to do in timeliner is show that transition so as the building goes up you see the nets transfer from 6 to 8 to 10 and so on. I am assuming the same solution would work for other objects as well like support of excavation so that when the foundations go in the support of excavation disappears.

What I looking for is a sample that I can look at and use. Thank you.
