I have been using Navisworks Manage 2013 to open Revit 2012 models natively with little issue for months now. Our architect uploaded their newest model this week and when updating the Navisworks file the following error occured: "There were errors encountered while opening the Revit model. Please open the file and fix the errors." After clicking "OK", another error comes up stating that there is "not enough temporary disk space". Navisworks proceeds to open all the other 2012 Revit files linked into it but not the one with the errors. I cleared out my temporary disk space however that did nothing to resolve the situation. As for the errors found in Revit, I checked the error reports between the previous model that worked, and the current model that doesn't and found only 1 error that was new. This was corrected and I attempted to bring the model into Navisworks again but received the same error. We have had this issue before with our structural model however that was corrected by having them upgrade their model in Revit 2013 before sending to us to load into the Naviworks model. This is NOT an option for our architects.
Please advise on if this is a fixable issue.
Hi Rcole
For opening Models directly through the RVT reader, I'd recommend that the model is upgraded to 2013. This will by pass the readers process of upgrading the file which may be running into the error in addition to allowing for a much quicker load of the files.
Do you yourself have a copy of Revit and would be able to upgrade the model and resave it before loading in Navisworks?
If not, I would recommend that the architect send you NWC files of the model that are exported directly from Revit using the Navisworks exporter plugin.
The architect can download the 2013 exporter which can install over Revit 2012 to produce 2013 version NWC from the link below without the need for a license:

If you or others are still running Navisworks 2012, you could also have them install the 2012 version of the exporter over Revit 2012 as well, which will produce 2012 version NWC files that are able to be opened in both Navisworks 2012 or 2013. This is available as a download “autodesk_navisworks_exporters_2012_multilingual_win.exe” through the following Service Pack 1 link:

If these aren’t options for you, would you be able to log a support request through our subscription center to send the two versions of the RVT files.
