im using a student version of NavisWork manage 2011 doing my final year project.

when i add .mpp, MSproject2003 into TimeLiner--Likns, only one line come out, saying'New link' something, and how exactly should i make a time line? in Tasks?

can i just link .mpp file into it or ishould create a task schedule under Task?

i have read about User Guide and Getting started guide, seems not cover that area.

thank you very much!!!

Right click on the task table Make sure your on the task tab) and there should be an option to create tasks from new link.  Not sure of the wording because I am unable to get innto Navisworks right now.

It sounds like importing the link has been successful, the status of the link will be listed next to the Project location.

You will then need to connect the tasks from the project schedule to the parts of the model. To do this in an automated fashion, make sure your project schedule has a way to link to the model (i.e. Unique ID to Unique ID, or Rules to connect Selection Sets to a column name in the Project). When the link was created you should have recieved a Column Selector to map columns from the project to the model. You would then be able to right click in the Links tab and 'Rebuild Tasks from Heirarchy".

Or you can manually link a task to parts of the model in Tasks tab.

In the Help guide you may find it easier to work from the contents and look for "Simulate Construction Scheduling" for more details on workflow.
