Dear jorgegarza1209

I’m sorry to hear that this crash is occurring.  Would you be able to post a non-sensitive file here that crashes the software and I can reproduce the issue?

If you export directly to an NWC file by using the NWCOUT function, does this crash the exporter plugin?

If not, and if you open the resulting NWC file, does this crash Navisworks?

Please try the following:

1. Open Navisworks and select Application Button > Options

2. Click the export button and export an XML file for your current DWG settings, and please upload this XML file.

3. Expand File Readers > DWG

4. In the options, unmark all the “Convert ..” options to only load a limited amount of data from the file

5. Click the Advanced button and unmark all these Object Property boxes so they are no longer converted.

Try loading the file and check if it still crashes.  If it doesn’t crash, you can try enabling the boxes individually while refreshing the model to check which one crashes Navisworks while enabled.

You can use the import button in the options editor to import the options back to what they were in step 2 above.

Sorry for replying so late, but i have already tried the steps you mentioned. I have also attached a model that contains repads.

Thanks,

Jorge

Hello John,

Have you had a chance to review the drawing to reproduce that same issue?

Hi jorgegarza1209

I’ve reproduced the crashing using the AutoPLANT Object Enabler V8i x64 08.11.08.151 and 08.11.07.60 .  Please open Control Panel > Programs and let me know what version of the enabler you have installed.  I tried with various loader years, but the same crashing occurred.

I then tried Bentley AutoPLANT Object Enabler XM Edition 08.09.03.30. This enabler worked to convert the objects without a crash using the 2008 DWG loader on a 32-bit machine without a crash, but the 64-bit version Navisworks didn't convert the AutoPLANT objects using this version of the enabler.

What version of AutoPLANT created this file?  Please send a screenshot of the window that opens when you select Help > About in the AutoPLANT application?

Could you export directly to an NWC through the NWCOUT command?  If you are receiving the file from someone else, they can install the free export utility from here:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?id=13947462&siteID=123112

If you don’t have AutoPLANT installed on your machine with Navisworks, do you have another AutoCAD application installed that is able to convert the AUtoPLANT objects using the object enabler?  If so, can you export from that AutoCAD application using NWCOUT to convert the model without missing objects?

Are all of your AutoPLANT models crashing Navisworks or is it just this particular file?
