NavisWork - ram usage keeps going up

it takes 30 minutes to open a project and maybe 30 minutes to simply save it under another name. First CPU from my computer at 100% over an hour.

I really don’t think is normal and acceptable. Is there any tips or options I should disable or check in NavisWorks 2013?

I tested with a 50Mo and a 100Mo NavisWorks project file, similar problem.

Are you opening  a NWD file? And resavint it?

Any CAD in the NWF?

Application button > Options > model > NWD

what is he saving to? NWD?

Please try:

Opening resaving an NWD? or opening an NWF and saving to an NWD

disable geometry compress under Application button > Options > model > NWD

If that doesn't resolve the issue please try testing our sample files.

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2013\Samples\bathcity

open the NWF and save an NWD.

Do you see the same issue?

What is your computer spec?

the NWD file was created with NavisWorks Manage 2012.

When i open it with NavisWorks Manage 2013, it takes eternity to open that file. Takes about 30 minutes.

I did what you said, resave it with with NavisWorks Manage 2012 in NWF and NWF.  (30 minutes to save each !!!)

Disabling the check under Application->Option->Model->NWD (no improvement)

my same computer takes 15 secondes to open the same files with the older version NavisWroks Manage 2012 !!!

opening the sample bathcity takes like 30 to 60 seconds.

opening the sample bathcity in NWD take like 1 or 2 minutes.

My computer specs are :

Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU W3530 @ 2.8Ghz

RAM 6.00 Go

Windows 6 Enterprise SP1, 64.

NVIDA Quadro 600

Unfortunatley the issue could be on Windows 6 as it is not supported by Autodesk.

My suggestion is to try a repair on your instalaltion and if that doesn't work, I would suggest upgrading to Windows 7.

I am using navisworks manage 2013 and facing memory issues. The machine is Win7 64bit and 12GB RAM is installed, but when then memory hits 10.5GB it halts and errors Not Responding. The input file size is 3GB. Is there any option to increase performance.

Export all your options in Manage 2012 into an XML file.
Import all the options in Manage 2013.
Close manage and retry: Is this any better ?
-> differences in the File Reader options and with "close file on read" can make a big difference in file I/O performance.
