Global Options XML file

I know that you can change your settings in global options and export them as an XML file to import to other stations, but is there any way to re-path the directory that NavisWorks looks for the XML by default? For instance, if we install NavisWorks on numerous computers do we have to load the global options XML file on each PC or can we place the XML file on a server and have all NavisWorks stations pathed to that location?

Hi there,

Using the Global Options under General/Locations you can specify Project or Site Directories to be examined for Global Options, workspaces, DataTools profiles, avatars, rules, etc. Project takes precedence. This can be a network path if so desired. It is treated in a similar manner to the user's profile directory & the equivalent for All Users.

It is even feasible to lock options via the Options Editor & export so that when Project settings are picked up, they cannot be changed by users on their machines.

Hope that helps,

Jeff
