Frantic Redrawing In Stereo

Hi ,all.

I've successfully setup Simulate 2012 to display in stereo with my QuadroPlex 7000 cards. I've aso enabled "Guaranteed Frame Rate" and "Fill In Detail" and quite happy with the navigation speed.

However each time I navigate through the model, or more precisely each time I stop moving, I see frantic messed detail redrawing frames flashing for 10-20 seconds before the the pictures stabilises... that is untill I move again.

If I remove Guaranteed Frame Rate, I don't get the frantic redrawing but fps/ navigation is slow.

If I remove Fill in Detail, then there's no frantic redrawing but I have no details neither. 😞

I've also notice that when I'm retrained to a smalle bounding box, I don't get this frantic detail frame flashing.

Has anyone experienced this?

Even better, does anyone has a suggestion to fix it?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

This can happen on larger models with guaranteed frame rate switched on. There are ways to improve it by maximising performance, using the latest drivers, and a few other tips listed here

I would also recommend looking at the bounding box of your model and ensuring there is no spurious geometry or ground planes larger than they need to be as this will also improve performance.

Thanks for the tips.

I've experimented with the tuning tips at http://beyonddesign.typepad.com/posts/2011/12/3d-stereo-viewing-in-navisworks.html but hopefully how-to-solve-poor-graphics-performance-in-navisworks.h... will give us some better performance.

I'll also have a look at the model and make sure it's bounded neatly. Might be something there.

Will voice back if I see some improvements.

Thanks.
