Error message "There were errors encountered while opening the Revit model"

If you recieve the error "There were errors encountered while opening the Revit model. Please open the file in Revit and fix the errors" then you will need to open the file in Revit, resave it then you can bring it into Navisworks. More details in the link below

Hi, we have recently had the same message when trying to append in a 2016 MEP rvt file into 2017 Navisworks manage, are there any fixes for this?

I have tried,

Re-opening the rvt file, audit, purge sync. - did not work

append in Local, detached and central file - did not work

removing all links and dropped in CAD files - did not work

Migrating/copying model to a new project - did not work

The strange thing about this problem is that up until around 4 weeks ago it appended in fine (although excruciatingly slowly!)

Any help would be much appreciated

thanks

Pete

This should NOT me marked as SOLVED as the link does not describe in the least 'HOW TO' fix the problem. . .

"This means you will need to fix the file in Revit 2013, this fixes parts of the model that cannot be converted inside of Navisworks. When you save the file in Revit 2013, Navisworks can then load those elements."

Please explain HOW to 'fix the file in Revit 20??' this happens far too often for my liking, and requires more steps in the federation process
