Elbows and fittings missing & Object enabler will not install.

I keep getting an error trying to install the object enablers - since no elbows are properly visible in Navisworks...

"C:\Users\name\Documents\New folder\setup.exe is C:\users\name\Documetns\new folder\ /temp

C:\users\name~1\AppData\local\temp\_AI35BB.tmp\secondRun /lang en-us /firstRunThreadId 6000"

the 6000 number keeps changing aswell.

any ideas?

What Object enabler is this? And which version of the enabler is this?

Is this the correct 32 or 64 bit version for the machine?

Does this work on any other machines?

Is the installer saved locally, say to the desktop?

Can you clear any Temp files on the machine and try again?

Autodesk® Navisworks® Simulate 2012

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?linkID=10382102&id=2334440&siteID=123112#section9

it is the correct 64 bit version

No idea if it works on other machines, I am the only user.

Installer saved locally defaulting to the desktop under "new folder" ( changing the name did not affect the error )

I will clear the temp files and see what happens.

Deleting the temp files did nothing.

Hi John,

Sorry, which Object Enabler is this? Obviously you want to install this on Navisworks to view the objects but what software or add on is the DWG from?

You can check this in the Scene Statistics once the file is loaded.

There is more information about object enablers here: -

AutoCAD Plant 3D 2012 Object Enablers

and in the Scene Statistics there is data missing which requires an Enabler.

The main pipe data I use is Sch 40 pvc, which in plant 3d is missing about 50% of the fittings, which I had to model.

so the fittings end up showing up as wireframes

This may be an issue with the version of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable installed. Can you check which version is installed and please uninstall and install this version below.

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=14632

If this fails can you check whether the Object Enabler appears in the Add Remove Programs list? If it does please check the second part of the Object Enabler article here: -

http://beyonddesign.typepad.com/posts/2011/06/so-my-model-is-there-you-say-i-just-cant-see-it.html

If it doesn't appear there I'll have to escalate this to the installation teams. Can you let us know which operating system this is, which service pack and which other Autodesk products (and versions) you have installed.

I had a newer version of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable, which I removed then installed the version you recomended.

no change.

I uninstalled via add/remove programs the Navisworks object enabler to attempt to re-install - still will not install

I have moved this across to the Installation and Licensing forum who should be able to help you more with this error of installing the Plant 3D 2012 Object Enabler.

Resolved.

Created a second admin account on the computer, installed the object enabler - deleted all old navisworks files, then reconverted them and the pipe fittings show up now.
