As you know,we can insert pipe or fitting at the port2 of slip on flange.
just like the following picture:
But one case:
the elbow and slip on flange are on two different pipeline with different linenumbers.
when we do clash dectective in Navisworks,as the elbow and the slip on flange are on two different layers and they don't have the same snap point,so Navisworks will report a clash between them.
So if there is any way to avoid?how to set the rule?
You can review the results and mark their status as approved designating that it isn’t an issue, and place them in a group of false positives. When you re-run the clash test, it should remain approved. Marking the clash as resolved will result in the clash becoming active again as the clash is still present.
If you wish to use rules, you can create a selection set for the elements that make up that portion of pipe and then create a rule ignoring clashes where both elements are in that selection set.
Please let me know if this answers your question.
Hi John Lipp
thank you for your reply.
but i think it's not a very good solution because there are so many such Slip-on flanges.
According to your solution, they should do clash dective first and mark so many times.
Or they should in a very big model and find them and their connected components.
It's very difficult.
I think if you don't have a very good solution, can you add this to the wishlist.
