3d faces from acad render black....

I extracted 3d faces from a c3d 2012 surface, and split between a green and red layer.

When I pull into NW Simulate 2012, the faces show fine in shaded mode, but black in full render mode.

If I do not extract faces, but pull in dwg with full c3d surface, things work fine, but i need control of faces on different layers for coloring.

Any obvious things to check here? I am using full lights for lighting, rendering using presenter.

Did you check the material tab in presenter? If you pull in dwg file there sometimes is a material called by layer which is totally black. Why this is here no one can tell me. But you need to delete it because else you end up with black objects in your render.

This should now be resolved in the Navisworks 2013 release.

that was it, delete the bylayer material.

You would think stuff like this would get caught in the most super basic testing of the product.

thanks
