transparent elements display when I render

Hello

I made animation in animator. Everything works fine but when I Export /Render my animation, all my transparent items are visible. Is there someone who can help?

Thank you

Hi spey

This will occur if you have a material applied to those items.  Materials themselves have their own transparency so when rendering the transparency of the material determines the item and not the transparency you set through Override Transparency.

If you click the Viewpoint tab in the ribbon and set the Render Mode to Full Render under Render Style, do the same items show?

Open Presenter and check the materials tab. Is there a grey material present in the palette that looks like what is applied to those items? If so, you could delete that material from the palette if it isn’t needed.  Otherwise, you can right-click the items that it is applied to and select Remove Material.

If the material is needed to be applied to those items, but you wish for them to not be visible for that viewpoint you are rendering, you should be able to hide them, and they shouldn’t’ be visible if they are completely transparent.

Thanks for a quick reply.

They can only be seen when I render(Presenter) my model, so I can not see anything when I have it on Full Render Style.

The model is an RVT model and I did not add any material to my model yet. If I add materials so it becomes even worse 😞 (Plz look at the image below)

Any ideas?

How did you bring the Revit project into NW......Loaded Navitely, or nwc Out from RAC?....IF you exported via nwc from Revit, What setting did yo use  regarding View, Seledted or Entire Project.............Also, do you have "lines" turned off on the "Viewpoint" settings?  It looks like you have lines floating around there AND 'shadow' items maybe turned off and/or Phased that are coming into the NW world.  One more thing...is there any ACAD.dwg objects in there?

I export it from Revit to NWC and than in the NW (My settings you can see in the attached file)

I have Line off
I have no shadows
No ACAD objects

Can it be something with my driver?

Thats' ALWAYS a possibility.......

looking at your nwc settings, I'd try the folowing:

1....Check "Convert Element ID's"..that may help figure out the offending objects pieces/parts more easily.

2.....I'd also check the "Try and find Materials" box........even though you say you didn't add materials, per se, there are materials on the objects, even if they are 'default'......problem is without actually seeing iside your model, it's hard to verify.....................but you never know.

3....also at the EXPORT Section, try changing from "veiw" to Selected, and then select the actual objects in the view............I am also going to assume you are exporting out of a 3D view, not a plan view.

Hi spey

I was able to reproduce the issue by opening the sample gatehouse model under C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2013\Samples\gatehouse, selecting everything, overriding the transparency to 100%, and exporting a rendered image.

I check issues logged with our development team, and this is a known issue that is being worked on.  I’ve added this forum post's information to the notes on the issue so that our development group is aware more users are running into the issue.

Would you be able to log a support request through the subscription center so that I can add your project to those that are tested against?

Since the issue occurs when the items are set to 100% transparent, which is the same visibility as hiding them, would you be able to hide the items rather than use the transparency, or does the animation you wish to create require the elements to transition between being fully transparent and visible?

Best regards,

Hello john

The project that you see pictures of, it's just a test before I should start with my large project, but I have unfortunately be prevented because of this problem. Therefore, I see no reason to send my little test to subscription center, or?

These elements should start to be 100% transperant, then 50% and finally they appear as they should. as far as I know I can not obtain the same result by hiding them?

Thank you in advance

Spoiler

Thank you for the update.  Unfortunately, I don’t have much of a workaround as the element are required to fade in from 100% transparent to 0%.

I would recommend logging a support request on our subscription center http://subscription.autodesk.com/ and that way I can provide you a business case document to fill out, which helps for prioritization of issues that are logged with our development group.

Best regards
