Viewpoints Reports

My clash reports look great. Nicely organized easy to read. My viewpoint reports  however are all cluttered and messy looking. Anyone else having this issue?

Report formatting is controlled through XSL stylesheets, so that should be a good place to start comparing the differences.

Hi revitforbreakfast,

The XML used to generate the Viewpoints Report has line breaks in the comments, but the XSL used to create the HTML does not preserve those line breaks in comments.

An interesting article on preserving line breaks using XSL:

Using the PreserveLineBreaks template in the article, I modified the XSL to allow comments to retain their linebreaks.

If you want to give it a test, rename viewpoints_report.xsl with the bak extension and try saving this modified version to the folder:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2012\en-US\stylesheets

Please let me know if this helps

John,

This worked great. I suppose this will be in the next service pack?

Thanks very much.

Hi revitforbreakfast,

I am not able to project what will be included in upcoming releases or services packs.  If you would like support for multi-line comments in your reports, I would recommend sending an enhancement request for it on the feedback page:
