I can only guess,
but it will depend on the program used to create the objects.
In case of a Autodesk vertical (Program on top of AutoCAD), the following solution might work:
- Open the DWG with plain AutoCAD, without any "object Enablers" installed.
- Save it in an older version of AutoCAD, like 2000 version and try this version later
- Use Qselect to select all Blocks and Explode them. Purge the drawing
- Save the drawing with another filename, so you can use this 2nd copy to try also.
The objects in this instance are from Revit...plus that sounds like a painful workaround, when there should be a solution within Navisworks.
Hello ScottWood8135 ,
This should be simple and there should be no need to resave a new file.
Have you tried selecting your item at a different level of the selection tree? I ran a test for you and I seem to be okay when I do this. If you are selecting your item from the selection tree, select one level higher and hide the item, it should hide.
If you are selecting in your workspace and hiding, and it hides all of them, your “Selection Resolution” is set wrong.
1.) Click the Home tab.
2.) Click the drop-down arrow at the bottom of the “Select & Search” section.
3.) Change your Selection Resolution” to “Last Unique”.
Now when you click an item and hide it, it only hides the unique item.

Thanks, but not quite there. My Selection Resolution is set to Geometry, which is more granular...
The issue is with Hiding Search Sets...if the items are selected any other way, the issue does not occur.
That being said, I'll can figure out a way to hide the objects, without using the Search Set to select...this is one of those acceptable flaws in the software.
I am experiencing the same issue.
I am attempting to use a selection set to select objects in the first tier of the heirachy, and all siblings. The search set works fine, and selects the correct geometry, yet returns the error when trying to 'hide selected' or 'hide unselected'
If I manually select the branches I want, they will hide no problem.... Eeek
