Why were the "Measure Tool" (Point to Point, etc) options removed from Nav Man 2015 Measure Palette and how do I get them back?

I agree; this has to be one of the worst "upgrades" to remove the buttons from a toolbar that can be relocated on the screen to where it is most comfortable/useful/functional... Why? Why? Why? would it be even a thought to remove the buttons and place them somewhere else. I'd liken it to an auto manufacturer upgrading the navigation system in your car but putting the user interface in the back seat. What 'real' user would look at this as a prduct improvement? We'll see if we ever hear anything from AutoDesk on this one...
As this is a peer-peer support system its possible you won't ever hear from AutoDesk this way. From what I've discussed with them it was a technology issue. The way the original measurement palette was implemented was holding the rest of the development back, so it had to be redesigned.
We used to use a keyboard, then a tablet, then a mouse, then a 3D controller. If we can't adapt to change, we're int the wrong business.
This was an intentional change to the 2015 Navisworks interface. I don’t know the ‘why’ behind it. But a workaround in 2015 that comes close to the 2014 interface is to drag the Measure Ribbon Panel off of the ribbon and position it near the Measure Tools Window (see attached image).

This does not allow you to transform any files based on the distance between them. How am I supposed to then align files to the same reference point?
I am trialing autCAD LT 2015 and the measure (distance) command has stopped working. I have had to resort to using linear for measurements then delete them. Has anyone else had this happen and can advise on how to rectify. Many thanks .
Did you find the botton to transform? I've attached an image showing where they moved the button.
I agree- ridiculous upgrade, should have left the measure tool alone.
I can tell you that as a Beta tester, I brought this up as a primary concern. I was told that the things they want to do with the UI, doesn't allow for the measure tools the way it was currently written. As someone else posted, you can move the panel in the "Review" tab, near the Measure Tools results window. I personally did this and it's working fine for me right now.
"If we can't adapt to change, we're int the wrong business"?????? That's a pretty ballsy comment. Every year Autodesk puts out a new release and we're supposed to "adapt"? I suggest fixing the MYRIAD of problems contained within Autodesks software BEFORE forcing everyone to "adapt" to something new. I've worked with every release of AutoCAD MEP since 2009 and they get worse every year. The past few years I've noticed the same thing with Navisworks. I can only imagine the hell all us users are going to go through in 2016 because of the format change that occurs every 3 years. Good times ahead!
I agree that this is more of a downgrade, especially for those of us who hide the ribbon.
However, I was able to create a keyboard shortcut for the Point-to-Point measure tool by referencing this post:
http://whatrevitwants.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/editing-keyboard-shortcuts-in-navisworks.html
Basic Steps:
1. Locate the RoamerCommands.xml file. IMPORTANT: Make a copy of the file before changing it.
File location on my system:
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2015\Layout\RoamerCommands.xml"
2. Open the file in Notepad, then do a search (Ctrl+F) for "Measure". Click "Find Next" a couple times until you see this line:
<Command ID="RoamerGUI_OM_MEASURE_PT_TO_PT">
<Shortcut>______</Shortcut> <<<< YOUR NEW SHORTCUT
<Toggle>true</Toggle>
<Accelerator>p</Accelerator>
3. Create your keyboard shortcut above the line that begins with Toggle.
