Getting 'Internal error' while opening a revit file in Navis manage 2013

Hi

when appending a revit file to Navis Manage 2013, i am getting the following message

'Cant load (file name).rvt because of an internal error '

Can any one help. I have been having no problems upto now with previous file revisions, but for some reason the latest .rvt file that has been issued to me wont load into the .nwf model.

i would be gratreful of any help that people could offer

thanks

im getting the same issue with this.

Its comes from the "save to new file" value in Revit. If its not exported right i get this issue as well.

I am currently finding the same issue with NW 2015 & Revit 2015.

From what i can make out this happens when there are warnings to be reviewed in the revit model.

If you open the revit model it will give you a warning or error.

for instance a linked model needs a coordination review or a room tag is now outside it's room, these type of messages.

When these are present in the Revit file. Navis can not complete it's conversion as it can't get past this dialog box.

Is there a fix for this? It's fairly bad that Navis can not see past these minor warning messages.

Had the same internal error.

Here is what I did to make it work (5 minutes ago):

1) I detached the revit model from central

2) Deleted all dwg links in "manage links" and saved the file

3) loaded it into Navisworks without a problem and high fived myself because this error is annoying 🙂

When yo uget internal error the first try should be to delete the revit links and/or dwg links before loading into Navisworks, even when you have "convert links" unchecked in the options.

HI Adam,  can you please explain more?  You did all those steps in Naviswork or in Revit?

I dont have revit software and Im trying to open revit file I got from a customer in naviswork and Im getting the same error. Can I do it without having revit  software?

Thanks,  Magda

Hi,

This was done inside Revit. I am not sure if this can be resolved with only Navisworks since the original Revit model has to be cleaned up.

I have the same problem but I can't change the revit-modell.

Can I achive opening only via Navisworks settings?

If not, can someone explain again what exactly has to be done in revit?

Thanks and regards

Klaus
