Error appending multiple DWG files

When I try to append more than 1 DWG file I get an error saying file does not exist or can't be opened. When I append just 1 DWG file it loads properly. I changed the DWG loader version to 2013 already. Any suggestions?

Try with different settings of the DWG file reader:

"close on load", "convert Xrefs" and anything other that mentioned there..

Which release of Navisworks are you using? Is it current with the available service pack(s)?

What’s the history of the drawings your trying to append?  For example, did you create them or receive from another source? Can you open those drawings in AutoCAD? Are there issues there, any file corruption?

Maybe if you post a screenshot or two showing what’s going on in Navisworks it may assist the community here to give some more responses.

(If you are accidentally hitting “open” again rather than “append”, that would explain this behavior.  As you know, you can only use open on the first file and then everything else is appended).

I am able to open the files in autocad. I have all of the object enablers installed that I would need. Some files are from other trades using revit or autocad. The files load perfectly fine when I append them individually. The problem is when I select multiple files to append it doesn't let me. It lets me refresh them as long as they are already loaded in. Another designer I'm coordinating with just started having the same problem I am experiencing. Everything was working perfectly a week ago. I can post screen shots as soon as I get home.

I am using Navisworks Manage 2015. I will have to check but I think there was an update last week that I installed. Attached is a screenshot of the error message I receive. I can load the files perfectly as long as I append them individually.

We tested this. It appears that Heartbleed Service Pack affected the ability to append multiple files of any type. We have Navisworks Manage 2015 with Service Pack 1 and we cannot append multiple Revit Files & Cad Files. (See Attached Image for the error) We also have a copy of Navisworks Manage 2015 without the service pack that is able to append multiple files without issue.  Even though it was a security patch when you go to "About Navisworks" it does state "Service Pack1" so hopefully a hotfix or a reissue of the of the patch can be issued.

For now, just add them one by one! Not as a efficient, but it works!

Hope that helps!

I did confirm that this is a quirk with SP1 for Navisworks 2015. The development team is aware of it. Hopefully we will see this corrected in the near future. In the meantime, there are a couple possible workarounds. Append one item at a time until a fix is available. Or uninstall SP1. You can remove Service Pack 1 through the Programs and Features Control Panel (click the View installed updates link to see the update).

SP2 is released for Navisworks 2015 and it's mentioned as fixed in the readme of this SP2
