Crash when loading step file

Hi,

When i am loading a step file that is approximately 20 mb, my naviswork manage 2011 always crashing and i receive this type of message:

Load of LL Piping ASSY-08juillet.stp was canceled

Failed to load file via NoW64 (hr=0x80004005)

Error code: 32771

The fact is, I am able to open smaller step file, but when I try to open a bigger step file, it always crash. I did try to open different big size step file but it always show me this error.

I also have Inventor 2011 and those same step file works when I open them into Inventor. So the problem don't come from those step in particular.

I have link an image of the error.

Thank you,

Alex

Do you have the 2011 Service pack and Subscription release installed (you'll need to get this from the Subscription Center)?

Does this work in 2012?

If this still doesn't work in 2011 with the Service Pack and Subs release or Navisworks 2012, can you either upload the STEP file or create a Support Request and upload the file there and we'll pass it to development.

Hi,

I was having the same problem as Alex. Then I asked my IT to install NavisWorks 2012. IT also installed the Service Pack for 2012. Now when I try to open a .stp file I'm having a "Serious error" saying:

"Library C:\Program Files\Autodes\Navisworks Manage 2012\Inventor Server\Bin\d3dx10_42.dll does not exist."

My IT guy downloaded the d3dx10_42.dll and included it in the folder mentioned above, but it still given me the same error.

I wanted to attached one .stp file that I'm trying to open, but the website does not allow .stp file to be uploaded.

Note that before I tried with the evaluation version of NavisWorks and it was working.

Could you please help me?

Regars,

Louis

The installation doesn't sound complete, can you uninstall, restart, then run the installation again as an administrator. This is important to ensure that all registry keys are written.

If this fails can you put it in a ZIP file and upload that please?
