Acoustical ceiling tiles line don't show up

After I export the both the gyp ceiling and the acoustical ceiling tiles as NWC file from Revit and append it into Navisworks, the grid pattern of the acoustical ceiling tiles doesn't show up.  So the gyp ceiling and acoustical ceiling tiles look the same visually.

Is there a way to make those ceiling tiles lines show up in Navisworks?

Thanks in advance.

Check on the Viewpoint tab / Render Style panel / Lines button.  Is the Lines button on?

Actually, I forgot myself here, I was thinking of AutoCAD ceilings.  Revit has a difficult time with exporting simple geometry like lines and arcs to the NWC.  What I have had to do in the past to get the visual of Revit ceilings like I want is to use the Presenter material / Pattern / grab Grid and tweek as needed.

No, the lines still don't show up even with the line render style checked.

Hi diesellam

The Navisworks exporter for Revit does not support Revit Materials.  It will bring across colors, but not surface patterns or material images. As the ceiling grid is a surface pattern from the material on the ceiling, this explains the behavior.

I recommend posting a wishlist item for this on our feedback page, as our development reviews the information you send through this page, and coming from an end user, it offers a compelling business case.

You can draw model lines over the ceiling grid pattern, and these model lines will export to lines in Navisworks.

There is also an article on Steve Stafford’s Revit OpEd blog that provides a workaround:

Any updates on this John? We have submitted a request through the feedback page. The only way we have found is a bad visual through using the Autodesk Rendering in Navisworks but it's definitely not ideal and would like to be able to identify the items themselves without using Autodesk Rendering...
