Has Autodesk deveopled a way to access my NWD files on a Samsung Tablet to view the models in the field?
If not what is the best way to deliver these models to the field personel
Hello,
Autodesk 360 Mobil app has ability to view DWF files from your Autodesk 360 account. You can export any NWD file to DWF with its full functionality to view, hide, and make transparent the entities in nwd model. You can download Autodesk 360 from Google Play.

Hello;
Even if we are coming to the Cloud age please keep in mind that in some industry sectors you get forget about it.
I work in nuclear dismantling, Navisworks on Android would be a great tool to verify a model on the field but due to security reasons this model will never go in any Cloud so i have no solution.
This new "Cloud fashion" is sometimes more then annoying.

Please keep in mind that Android (ie. mobile) devices have limited memory, computing power, screen size, and storage - we aren't *quite* to the stage of the magical ST:TNG PADD devices. All of that works against the large sizes typical with Navisworks models. At best you would be using the device to remotely access the program and data in an on-site computer system, such as a work trailer.
Hello;
What i want to point is the need of a tool working without internet connection so i mean with onboard data.
Of course i do understand we have to deal with storage capacity and tablettes performances.
I use at the moment a solution from another software editor and it works fine.

A good reading will be halfway to a good answer
If you're like me and have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S, it has a microSD card slot that can accept cards as large as 64GB. That's quite a lot of storage room for any Navisworks file (nwd, not nwf).
I just took a quick look at the Google Play store. They have quite a few 3D model viewers, but nothing like Navisworks yet, where you can walk through the model. But maybe check out some of the ones that are available. Maybe one will work for what you want;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.mcmiracom.modelviewer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dukedev.hdmodelviewer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pcvirt.Viewer3D
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amcbridge.viewer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jtb.modelview
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shadereditor
I'm sure that if you post a request somewhere that app developers read/watch, someone will create what you want. It may take a few months, but it's worth a shot.

I wouldn't hold your breath to wait for AutoDesk to develop a Navisworks app for android. They've been working on AutoCAD 360 (formerly AutoCAD WS) for over 4 years now, and they still haven't been able to add simple commands that everyone requires (check out their forum, you'll see what I mean; https://getsatisfaction.com/autocad360). Besides, AutoCAD 360 is still a beta app, which AutoDesk doesn't tell you until after you purchase a subscription for it. Or if you're smart, you'll find out from their forum before you buy a subscription that it's still a beta app.
Thanks tstorzuk for all those link i will check that.
I do use a samsung note pro tab with as you a 64 Gb micro SD. So as you said there's enough space for store quite a big model.
At my company job i do also have a subscription for my building suite so i often go and check the beta new stuff. But it's useless in my opnion to write anything to Autodesk, they just don't read as most of the editors. Sorry to say that but it's the truth.
As i do also work with SAP on Visual Enterprise i'm checking with them for an adaptation of their SAP Viewer for PC. They made a viewer for tablets but the use is different. Many clients do ask them to provide the same as for PC so i'm quite optimistic.

Daniel,
Yes, I have MANY microSD cards filled with files that I take with me wherever I go, so that my tablet can load up whichever file I need. I even have MicroSD card holders in different colors (Green, Red, Yellow and Blue) to quickly know what types of files I have loaded on them;

SAP seems to have a 3D viewer for Android on the Play store. Not sure if this is the same one that you were talking about;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sap.ve&hl=en
Only problem is it only loads *.vds files. They have to be created by using SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Generator. Looks like it's pretty expensive, for people that don't have it.....but you work with it, so hopefully that's a good enough solution for you.
I have recently checked to see if anyone has developed a 3D walk through environment using the Unreal Engine, but it doesn't look like it. It's the conversion from DWG files to the file types that Unreal can read which seems to be a big hurdle. Otherwise it would exist for sure. Anyways, at least I have asked the question on thier forums. Hopefully someone will get the ball rolling on this.
I'm working at IRAQ one of the Power Plant Construction but only internet server which is the ONE ONLY ONE we can use doesn't allow us to use dropbox or box only onedrive but (I don't understand why? only dropbox and box or any one of the f.k cloud service I HAVE TO USE?) you HAVE to change this proccess otherwise this is the most unmoral and useless programm I have ever seen...
Me too. Plant industry.
Site managers and other workers would have huge benefits to be able to "fly" through the model on a tablet. But we have 2 major problems with A360:
1. Controls are horrible for walking/flying, as in we can't get any functional movement other than orbit
2. It's cloud. This is an issue for 2 reasons: No administrator in their right mind would trust a third party hosting server with confidental material. The other reason being, that there's no decent internet on our sites, if there is any, so you can't even connect to the service.
This project (A360) have met so much resistance by several CAD industries, but someone high up in Autodesk REALLY believe that cloud is the future and that CAD absolutely have to be first mover on this technology.
I feel like the old CAD industry is being forgotten, because there is too much focus on getting all the 3D graphic companies up in 'fancy mode'.
theres any other option, A360 have lots of problem open my NWD model in Android
I used this plugin which handled my large navisworks files very well in android phone.
