Navisworks API Beginner here ...

What is being done using the Navisworks API? I know very little about this type of customization. What is being done out there?

Hi,

I assume you are using .NET. I'd recommend with the webcast:

And <Navisworks>\api\net\documentation\net API.chm has [Developer Guide] which could be a good reference for you.

The last is the net samples in <Navisworks>\api\net\examples

If you prefer to COM API, please refer to <Navisworks>\api\COM\documentation.

In short about your questions:

1. no matter .NET or COM, application types: plugin, automation, application based on controls

2. no matter .NET or COM, manipulate document, modals, properties, search, clash test

3. .NET only:  time liner, custom ribbon etc.. more will come in the future.
