Add 3rd party ActiveX control in PlugIn

What does it take to add a 3rd party ActiveX control as part of a addin plugin form in Simulate 2011 or 2012?

I referenced in the dll files and added the control on the form, then compiled the project with no error or warning. But when in Simulate, after the addin plugin button is clicked, I got a message of

"A software problem has caused Navisworks Simulate 2012 to close unexpectedly."

Any idea of how to fix that? I don't know if that is a general issue or just specific to that ActiveX control. If needed, error dump data can be provided.

Hi,

not a specific comment, just a suggestion: If you have the source code of the 3rd control, try to isolate to see if any special code causes the problem.

In addition, make sure the supported dlls of the 3rd control are put in the same folder of the Navisworks plugin dll. Navisworks needs to load them when loading plugin.
