string manipulation.. in .net?

I hope someone can help me with this..

In VBA if I want to work with a string of text, all I have to do is..

dim MyString as string

mystring = ``hi``

Then I can do what ever I need to..

But i`m at a loss as to how to do this in .net..  or even if it is
possible.

Anyone?

Dim myString as String
myString = "Sample string value."

I don't think I understand why you are having problems.
