Snap on pdf underlay

I have a pdf underlay in my dwg file and I found I can snap the object in it, end point, mid point, etc.

Is this mean there are some ARX functions to retrieve the object in pdf underlay? any sample code?

Thanks.

Take a look at the PdfReference and PdfDefinition classes in acdbmgd.dll. (For some reason these don't appear to be included in the .NET Reference Guide, so I'll ask our techpubs team to look into that).

Here's some very simple sample code - http://adndevblog.typepad.com/autocad/2012/04/how-to-create-a-pdf-reference-in-autocadnet.html

I attached a sample pdf file for you to check.

I can snap all the end and middle point of the lines in pdf. I really like to convert those lines to lines in CAD drawing file. I have 30 pdfs to convert manually which is a hard job to do by hand.

You help is very appreciated.

Thank you ahead.

So you want to convert the PDF geometry to native AutoCAD geometry? If so, check out these apps in the Exchange store:

http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/ACD/en/Detail/Index?id=appstore.exchange.autodesk.com%3aPdfImport%...

http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/ACD/en/Detail/Index?id=appstore.exchange.autodesk.com%3apdf2autoca...

I've tried the former, not the latter - but that doesn't mean that one is better. The alternative is to write a similar translator yourself. This isn't available as native AutoCAD functionality.

The alternative way is what I want to try.

So ARX haven't got functions to read pdf data. But if ACAD can snap the points in pdf underlay that means ACAD can read pdf data. Maybe this part of code is not open to public?

Thank you for the other option. I will try them while researching on line.

The second link to PDFin is not work on my ACAD MEP 2012. But they have a standalone software - PDF2CAD, can convert pdf and save as DXF or DWG. I'm satisfied with the result.

Thanks to this discussion group lead me to a solution.
