Thanks for the information. The link you provided shows on how to create and attach, but do you have any link that can talk about how to use the point clouds for custom programming? I really appreciate your help.

the first reference i posted was the earliest in a series of kean walmsley blogs that i saw on the subject, and far more than what i found on this forum:

other than that, browse the objectarx2012 documentation for "point cloud", there's a few descriptions
