I am creating an application in c# which uses AutoCAD 2004. I want to know if it is possible to open AutoCAD.exe application inside my C# windows form. I have seen that there exists controls like Autodesk Express Viewer Control, Autodesk Page Viewer Control, etc. Are there such controls that I can drop on my winform to view and edit dwg files of AutoCAD?

No, you cannot open a drawing with AutoCAD(acad.exe) INSIDE your Win Form
app. You can automate AutoCAD as ActiveX exe, just as you do with VB5/6.

Those app you mentioned taht show Acad drawings, actually a kind of Acad
drawing viewers, which can dispaly drawing in read-only mode in different
accuracy. Most of them are ActiveX controls. Search the web to find one that
suitable to your need.

A very good one is, you can guess, from Autodesk, Dwg TrueView 2 just being
made available for free late last year. It is both a stand-alone Windows app
and an ActiveX control. However, as ActiveX control, I run into some issues
to use it in .NET Windows Form app (C#), while it is good to use it in VB6
app.

What is the the reason? I would assume this is against your License
agreement.

Hey Paul its not a big issue why I have done it, for displaying my forms caption only, by avoiding the AutoCAD application's caption this is the reason.

Just because an ActiveX control is "available" does not mean that it is
"supported" as a stand-alone control. See
http://dwf.blogs.com/beyond_the_paper/2006/08/embed_dwf_inste.html: "Because
it [DWG TrueView] has an ActiveX Control component to it, people assume it
can be used for other purposes. ... we have not designed nor built our DWG
ActiveX Control with this is mind."
