How to find out a point is on a pipe in autocad.net

i have a point3d, i want to check whether it's in a pipe

You may need to back up a step or two, as "pipe" could be one of a number of objects e.g. MEP object, 3D solid, a couple of 2D lines, etc.  The intelligent objects may already have a method for determining what you need.  If not, then off the top of my head...

 

- get the shortest perpendicular distance from the point to the center line of the "pipe"

- get the radius of the "pipe"

- if the distance is within the radius, its inside the pipe
