Anyone know of a good clean command prompt method in VB.NET without using COM? Looking for something like the old, friendly Thisdrawing.Utility.Prompt and it turns out that SendStringToExecute calls are asynchronous and are not invoked until the .NET command has ended. Really wouldn't have been such a great solution anyway.
Need some way to inform the user when events occur or processes are happening.
Any ideas?
For simple status messages or error messages at the command prompt, you obtain a reference to the Document.Editor and call the Editor.WriteMessage method.
For showing progress during long operations, you can use the Autodesk.Autocad.Runtime.ProgressMeter to display a progress bar in the Status bar at the bottom of the AutoCAD window.
