AutoCAD .NET Developers Guide now available

I'm pleased to announce that the AutoCAD .NET Developers Guide is now available at :

http://www.autodesk.com/autocad-net-developers-guide

I hope this will prove a valuable resource for you. Please submit comments and suggestions using the links in the guide.

This is the first release of the guide, which we expect to extend to cover additional topics in the future.
The guide is an online document - there is currently no downloadable version.

Cheers,

Hi Stephen,

I've clicked on the link and opened the page with FireFox 3.0.12.

No matter which link on the Introduction page I click, the page simply
reloads itself.

The links do work in Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13

In view of the wide use of Firefox, it would seem a good idea to fix the
links so they work.

Regards,

Laurie Comerford

Which could be obsolete next week if revisions or additions are made.

Hi arcticad,

I have Java and Javascript both enabled from the Firefox
[Tools][Options] Content tab.

There must be some other setting mucking it up. Maybe AVG is the
problem, although I can't see anything in it's settings which would
influence the results.

--- time gap ----

After further poking around I've found that closing the "Firefox
Bookmarks" page enables the Autodesk web page to work.

My apologies to Autodesk and like you, thanks to them for posting the
information.

Regards,

Laurie Comerford

I don't know about the manual but the .net labs have VB code which disposes
of transactions
in the Catch block which might never be called! Since is seems whoever
writes the VB code
refuses to use Using statemnts the transactions should at least be disposed
of in a Finally block.

Hello Terry,
I pdf or a chm file would be nice so I don't have to have internet access
whenever I want to reference the guide.(while traveling)

That is how visual studio help can be setup, it accesses the web when your
connected for the latest documentation but uses it's local source when not
connected.

I'd like to see the code samples with a display icon (toggle) similar to the
ActiveX code sample ..
and be able to configure the Guide to display either C# or VB code (or both)

Most people will only be interested in only one of the languages, making the
code for the other visually distracting.
