API Differences... 2005 vs 2006

Does anyone know whether there is a major capability difference between the
.NET API introduced with AutoCAD 2005 and the one included with AutoCAD
2006? I'm trying to migrate functionality currently achieved through Visual
Lisp contained in a VLX file by gradually converting it into a .NET DLL but
seamlessly calling it from within the VLX. I'm pretty sure this can be
accomplished using 2006 but for some reason I've been asked by the bean
counters whether we can accomplish the same thing with 2005 rather than
2006. I doubt that the upgrade price is different from 2002 which is what we
will have to do.

Any comments or suggestions?

There is a big difference. If you have to upgrade either way definately upgrade to the latest. Although I think it is possible to upgrade to a release which isn't current I don't think you would actually be given a discount.

Without a doubt, go with the latest. I had a really hard time developing
with .NET and AutoCAD 2005.

2006 is definitely the way to go.
