measure tool (confuse)

hello,

in softimage I can decide any measure , let say I decide make the 1 unit = 1 meter

if I export the object to 3dsmax how I make the measure same as softimage ?

and if I move it to engine like udk from softimage to UDK how the udk understand that my object
is 1 meter by 1 unit

I am little confuse.

and does the measure important in games or I must keep the size as my character ?

1 unit in Softimage is 10cm. Get a 3rd party measuring tool which you can use to measure your object.

I have no idea that how can I make a machine model with exactly measurement.
